National Prayer Event Opens Indonesia's 81st Independence Day Celebrations

A massive congregation of hundreds of thousands, comprising people from various regions and religions, gathered at Jakarta's National Monument (Monas) on Saturday evening for a National Prayer and Zikir event. The gathering served as the official kickoff for the 81st anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Indonesia.

Under the theme "Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia," the event aimed to foster national unity and strengthen the spirit of patriotism as the country approaches its Independence Day. The presence of individuals from different faiths underscored the event's message of inclusivity and togetherness.

Religious and government leaders, including the Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Nusron Wahid, were in attendance. They joined the prayers and zikir, participating in the spiritual endeavor to unite the nation.
