Inmate escapes as vehicle conveying prisoners crashes in Yobe

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Yobe State command, has confirmed the escape of a convicted inmate, Dahiru Mohammed, following a road traffic accident. The incident occurred on April 13 while Mohammed was being transported from Potiskum to Damaturu. The command has issued a public notice, identifying the inmate and warning the public against any dealings with him, as he is considered dangerous.

The general public is hereby notified that the Nigerian Correctional Service Yobe State command has confirmed the escape of an inmate from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Potiskum.

The service has urged anyone with information about Mohammed's whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or correctional facility immediately. They have also provided several emergency contact numbers for the public to use. The statement emphasized that harboring a fugitive is a serious criminal offense.
