Artisanal fishing representatives are worried about the lack of functioning medical equipment, especially given the risks associated with diving. The non-operational hyperbaric chamber means patients requiring such treatment must undergo lengthy and potentially dangerous transfers.

The Chiloé Health Service acknowledged the situation, stating that the hyperbaric chamber is still undergoing observations and administrative procedures to obtain its sanitary authorization. This delay in authorization has left a critical piece of medical equipment unusable, raising questions about its procurement and readiness for use.
