Downdetector reported that the issues were concentrated in various global regions, with Spain and Mexico seeing significant problems. In Spain, cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia were particularly affected. Users began reporting a surge in alerts around 3:00 PM Mexico Central Time. The problems manifested as intermittent errors on both the mobile applications and web versions of Meta's platforms.

According to reports, 55% of Instagram issues were related to app failures, 26% to server connection problems, and 15% to feed display errors. For Facebook, 49% of reported issues stemmed from its mobile environment. WhatsApp, Meta's messaging service, also experienced instability, though less intensely. Users reported delays in synchronizing multimedia files and difficulties receiving text messages.
