Inter Confirms Negotiations with Tottenham to Sign Cuti Romero

Inter Milan has confirmed negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Argentine defender Cristian Romero. Romero, who has spent five seasons in London, is reportedly seeking a move away from the Premier League club.

Tottenham is said to be open to negotiating a deal for Romero, with a valuation around 50 million euros. Inter, facing financial constraints, is considering a proposal involving a loan with an obligation to purchase the player. Piero Ausilio, Inter's sporting director, acknowledged the club's interest, stating, “We are interested, certainly. It’s true. We spoke with the agent [of Cuti] and Tottenham. We’ll see what happens. Romero has prior experience in Italian football, having played for Genoa and Atalanta before his move to Tottenham in 2021. He initially joined on loan before a permanent transfer for 53.8 million euros. Reports suggest Romero is receptive to returning to Serie A.

While Inter is pursuing Romero, other London clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal have also shown interest, though he is not their top priority. Meanwhile, Inter is also close to signing striker Santiago Castro from Bologna, with coach Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly approving the move.
