Inter Milan Player Investigated in Prostitution Network Case

Alessandro Bastoni, a key defender for Inter Milan, is facing a formal investigation into allegations of involvement with a luxury prostitution network that reportedly catered to Serie A footballers. The 27-year-old player is scheduled to appear in Milan on Friday to provide testimony.

Italian news agencies, citing sources close to the investigation and confirming reports from La Repubblica, stated that Bastoni received a notice of investigation on Tuesday. The accusation involves alleged solicitation of a 17-year-old minor at the time of the events. The investigation stems from a procedure initiated several weeks ago against an event company named "Ma.De. Milano."

According to initial findings, the company allegedly organized "all-inclusive" parties for Serie A players, facilitating connections with escorts. Bastoni, who was instrumental in Inter Milan's recent domestic double of the league title and the Italian Cup, is the first player to be formally implicated by Italian justice in this case. While other footballers, including Daniel Maldini, Riccardo Calafiori, and Kevin Bonifazi, will also be interviewed, they are expected to testify solely as witnesses.

Bastoni's lawyer, Salvatore Scuto, issued a statement to the AGI agency, asserting his client's innocence. "My client denies having had a relationship with a woman knowing she was a minor... We know nothing about this investigation. We will evaluate whether or not to respond to the prosecutors," Scuto said.
