Interior Minister Praises MotoGP at Sachsenring as Strong Signal from Saxony

Saxony's Interior Minister Armin Schuster lauded the MotoGP race weekend at the Sachsenring, calling it a powerful statement from the region. He highlighted the event's role in drawing elite international motorcycle racers to Saxony each year.

"Saxony attracts the top tier of international motorcycle racing to the Sachsenring year after year," Schuster stated. "Together with the annual spectator records, this sends a strong signal from a region where motorsport and automotive engineering have deep traditional roots."

The Sachsenring Grand Prix stands as one of Germany's largest single sporting events. This year, organizers reported a record attendance of 261,831 spectators, underscoring the event's significant international appeal for the Free State of Saxony, according to the Interior Ministry.

During his visit, Schuster also handed over a funding notice for 100,000 euros to the youth series "Moto4 Northern Cup." The funds are intended to contribute to the sustainable development of young motorsport talent.
