Interior Ministry reminds candidates of deadlines for legislative election filings

With Morocco’s legislative election set for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the Interior Ministry has reminded prospective candidates of the deadlines for submitting their files to contest seats in the House of Representatives.

Candidate declarations submitted through the dedicated online platform will remain open until noon on Tuesday, September 8. The ministry urged applicants to respect the deadline to avoid losing the opportunity to file.

Candidates must then submit the original copies of their files to the authorities responsible for receiving applications by noon on Wednesday, September 9. The ministry said prior registration of the candidacy declaration on the platform is mandatory. This step allows the head or representative of each list to complete the process by depositing the original file with the competent administrative authority.

The electoral campaign is expected to begin at the start of Thursday, September 10, and continue until midnight on Tuesday, September 22, the day before voting.
