Intervention: Zamfara gov’t begins renovation, upgrade of ABU Sickbay

The Zamfara State government has initiated the rehabilitation and upgrade of the medical center at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria. Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal approved the project, which was awarded to Lakeside Ventures Limited, after receiving a request from the university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed.

The handover ceremony saw a high-powered delegation from the Zamfara State government, including the Special Adviser on Infrastructure and Urban Renewal, Arc. Ibrahim Mohammed Agige, and officials from the Ministry of Works and Transport, meet with university management. Arc. Agige stated that the governor's intervention is for the betterment of education at his alma mater and assured that the project would commence promptly with quality execution.

He highlighted that the request for the medical center's upgrade was prompted by its high enrollment of NHIS members, underscoring the facility's importance to the university community.
