Investigation launched into fatal shooting targeting truck in Paine.

A homicide investigation is underway following a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night on a local road in Paine, Metropolitan Region. The incident took place near a scrap metal recycling company. According to initial information, a group of individuals in a three-quarter-ton truck were reportedly loitering in the area, apparently intending to commit a robbery. They were subsequently fired upon from outside the vehicle. The driver died at the scene, his body found meters from the truck, which had crashed into the company's fence. "The victim had a gunshot wound to his body. Additionally, a vehicle with multiple bullet impacts was found nearby," stated prosecutor Yans Escobar of the Organized Crime and Homicide Team (ECOH). The OS9 and Labocar units of Carabineros are handling the investigative duties. The ECOH unit of the Santiago Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office traveled to Paine to investigate the homicide of a man whose body was discovered meters from a truck bearing multiple bullet impacts.
