Investigators have theory on who organized Monaco attack

Lithuanian investigators reportedly have a theory about who orchestrated a recent attack in Monaco, according to sources familiar with the ongoing investigation cited by "Ukrainska Pravda." The focus is on two individuals, V. Zikovich and V. Reut, who have been charged with the murder of Anastasia Berezovska, the suspected perpetrator of the attack.

Both suspects are reportedly cooperating with law enforcement and providing detailed testimony. They claim Berezovska, who lived as a refugee in Germany with her son for several years, was motivated by money. According to their statements, she intended to buy a house in Ukraine with the funds received. The suspects allege they covered her travel, accommodation, and car rental expenses.

Furthermore, the suspects claim Berezovska was involved in other operations prior to the attack on V. Jermolajev, including those related to blogger Anatoliy Shariy. One suspect stated the initial plan was to kidnap Jermolajev, not kill him. Sources indicate that V. Reut confessed to constructing an "electronic detonation initiation module" disguised as a toy car, which was given to Berezovska in Germany. She then allegedly assembled the explosive device.

However, V. Zikovich maintained that Berezovska lacked the specialized knowledge and preparation required to build such a device herself. It is noted that the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has informed "Ukrainska Pravda" that V. Reut and V. Zikovich are currently only charged with Berezovska's murder. The investigation into the broader orchestration of the Monaco attack appears to be ongoing.
