Iran Claims U.S. Actions Undermine Diplomatic Process Amid Escalating Tensions

Iran has accused the United States of actively harming diplomatic processes aimed at de-escalating tensions and ending conflicts. Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, stated that U.S. actions send "contradictory messages," involve "constantly changing positions and demands," and worst of all, "continuously violate ceasefires."

Baqaei's remarks, disseminated through Iranian media, emphasized that "any diplomatic process is harmed by the use of force and illegal actions on the ground." This statement comes in the wake of recent military exchanges between the U.S. and Iran in the Persian Gulf region. These actions have further jeopardized fragile ceasefires and ongoing negotiations.

Unfortunately, the United States is harming this diplomatic process because it sends contradictory messages, constantly changes positions and demands, and, worst of all, constantly violates ceasefires.

According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the U.S. military targeted Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and radar installations near the Strait of Hormuz. This response was reportedly in retaliation for Iran shooting down a U.S. military helicopter. In turn, Iranian media reported that Tehran launched attacks against U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf and Jordan, utilizing ballistic missiles among other weaponry. The heightened military activity prompted air defense activations in Kuwait and alarms in Bahrain.
