Iran confirms end of hostilities, signing planned for June 19

Iran has declared an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities, including military operations on all fronts, notably Lebanon, according to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi. Gharibabadi announced this development on Iranian local television, asserting that the agreement also includes the lifting of the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran.

Gharibabadi proclaimed that Iran has achieved a significant victory in the conflict, stating, "The enemy that attacked to achieve evil purposes has been defeated in all objectives, and Iran has achieved a great victory in this war." This declaration marks a pivotal moment following the conflict.

The final memorandum of understanding is slated for signing in Switzerland on June 19. Iranian state media, citing Gharibabadi, also indicated that any potential negotiations between Iran and the U.S. regarding Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions would depend on the U.S. fulfilling prior conditions. Iran intends to independently verify these conditions before the signing ceremony.
