Iran Deputy Parliament Speaker says Strait of Hormuz is 'pinnacle of our power'

Iranian Deputy Parliament Speaker Hamidreza Haji Babaei declared that Iran would "never reach an understanding with America," positioning the Strait of Hormuz as "the pinnacle of our power." His remarks, delivered during a parliamentary session, underscored Iran's unwavering support for regional "resistance" movements and issued a stern warning to Ukraine regarding any "mischief" in the Caspian Sea.

The Strait of Hormuz created great power for the Iranian nation, and today it is the pinnacle of our power. This peak of power and dignity of the great Iranian nation must definitely be supported and protected.

Haji Babaei referenced Hezbollah's recent pledge of allegiance to Iran's leadership, calling it a "high peak of the nation and the victorious face of the resistance." He argued this demonstrated the strength of the "Islamic nation and the resistance," forcing "America and the Zionist regime [Israel]" to retreat. He invoked statements from the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, stating Iran's primary condition for any understanding with America is preserving Lebanon's territorial integrity and the complete elimination of Israeli aggression.

America should not be allowed to fight whenever it wants and declare a ceasefire whenever it wants. The Islamic Republic of Iran must stand strong against America's will and not allow America to be an active player in the region.

Quoting the current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, Haji Babaei asserted, "There is no other way forward but jihad and resistance." He insisted that Iran must "stand strong against America's will" and prevent the U.S. from being an "active player in the region." He believes the "will of the great Iranian nation has shown that America is passive," and this passivity should extend to Iran's politics. "America's war is war, its peace is war, and its dialogue is war," he stated, cautioning against any perceived reconciliation.
