Iran President reveals signed MOU with Trump, Pakistan PM as mediator

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has publicly shared a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that he claims was signed by himself and former U.S. President Donald Trump. Pezeshkian posted images of the document on his social media account X, describing it as a "historic document" and a message from a "powerful Iran."

In his post, Pezeshkian stated, "Peace will be realized under the shade of mutual respect. The Islamic Republic of Iran is always committed to and abides by world peace, along with defending dignity and independence, development, and regional cooperation." He emphasized that the document reflects the voice of a nation that has not traded dignity and independence under any threat or pressure, attributing the achievement to a combination of national patience, political rationality, and responsible diplomacy.

The shared document includes both English and Persian versions of the MOU. Notably, the final page features the signature of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who acted as a mediator. Reports indicate that Trump signed the document during a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron in Versailles, and the signed copy was subsequently transmitted to Iran and Pakistan.

Pezeshkian held up the signed MOU during a public appearance on June 18th (local time). While photos of him signing the document were previously circulated by Iranian media, Sharif's signature was not initially visible in those images. The document's public release suggests a potential diplomatic development, though its specific terms and implications remain to be fully detailed.
