Iran's Khamenei accuses U.S. of violating deal, warns of 'unforgettable lessons'

Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has denounced repeated U.S. violations of a memorandum of understanding, warning of "unforgettable lessons" for Washington. In statements released on social media and state television, Khamenei asserted that the U.S. has once again shown its "true face," demonstrating its "lies, irrationality, unreliability, and malice."

The repeated violations by the great Satan (United States) of the commitments assumed in the memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents of Iran and the United States have once again shown everyone how useless and invalid the signature of the American president is.

The supreme leader's remarks come amid escalating tensions. The U.S. has been conducting airstrikes on southern Iranian cities following President Donald Trump's termination of the memorandum signed in mid-June. This action was a response to Tehran's attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Washington also reinstated naval blockades against Iran shortly after Tehran declared the strategic maritime passage closed again.

Khamenei cautioned the U.S. that if it persists in seeking conflict, Iran and its allies within the "Axis of Resistance," including Hezbollah and Yemen's Houthis, are prepared to deliver "unforgettable lessons." He also urged national unity, calling on the Iranian population and authorities to avoid internal divisions and conflicts when facing what he described as the "criminal and cunning American enemy."

If the United States continues to seek war, it must know that Iran and its allies in the Axis of Resistance... have unforgettable lessons for the North American country.

Earlier, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the country had suspended its commitments under the memorandum, citing the U.S. violation of all its obligations. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson also accused Washington of pressuring ships to use a "parallel route" in the Strait of Hormuz, deviating from the path designated by Iranian authorities, which he claimed contravenes the memorandum's terms.
