Iran's Khamenei Vows to 'Uproot' Israel, Warns U.S. Over Regional Bases

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a fiery condemnation of the United States and Israel, labeling the latter a "dangerous cancerous tumor" that will be "uprooted." Speaking on May 26 during the Hajj and Eid al-Adha observances, Khamenei asserted that the era of foreign tutelage is over for the region.

Israel is a dangerous and deadly cancerous tumor in the region and will certainly be uprooted.

Khamenei warned that the U.S. would find no safe haven for military bases in the region, suggesting America's influence is waning. He declared that Iran has rendered the "Zionist regime" powerless against strong blows, characterizing it as a "strong slap" to the U.S. The Supreme Leader also called for widespread global Muslim protests against the U.S. and Israel.

Adding to the strong rhetoric, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the U.S. military presence in the Persian Gulf has failed to guarantee lasting security. He argued that regional nations have realized relying on the U.S. for security is unrealistic and ineffective. Pezeshkian urged Iran's armed forces to pursue technological superiority and enhance defense capabilities through domestic cooperation.
