Iran says no current talks with US

Iran has stated that no direct negotiations are currently taking place with the United States, despite ongoing regional tensions. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, clarified on Monday that discussions are instead focused on Oman facilitating a temporary safe passage route through the critical Strait of Hormuz.

Baghaei emphasized that any potential agreement with Oman would not be enough to guarantee the reopening of the strait. He indicated that the situation would remain unchanged as long as what Iran terms U.S. "aggression" continues in the region. This stance highlights Iran's position on maritime security and its ongoing dispute with the United States.
