UAE hails Gaza disarmament deal as milestone toward ending conflict

The United Arab Emirates has lauded a historic agreement for the disarmament of armed groups in the Gaza Strip, hailing it as a crucial step toward ending the conflict.

In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for U.S. President Donald Trump's leadership in brokering the deal, which is part of his broader 20-point peace plan for Gaza. The ministry also commended the intensive efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye for their roles in facilitating the agreement.

The accord outlines a phased disarmament process, a concurrent withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the establishment of an international stabilization force alongside a new Palestinian police force to secure the Gaza Strip. The UAE anticipates this will bolster security and stability, alleviate civilian suffering, and create an environment conducive to reconstruction.

The ultimate goal, the ministry stated, is to advance a lasting political settlement based on the two-state solution, fostering security, stability, and prosperity throughout the region.
