Iran–US Political Understanding Not Yet Finalised, Iranian Sources Say Amid Contradictory Reports

A senior Iranian source revealed that a political understanding has been reached between Iran and the United States concerning the ongoing Iran-related war file. However, the source stressed that the understanding is not yet finalized, with crucial details still being negotiated.

Contradicting claims made by US President Donald Trump, the Iranian source clarified that any potential memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington does not involve nuclear-related provisions. The source specifically refuted assertions about uranium discoveries, labeling them as inaccurate.

Meanwhile, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency directly challenged reports of a completed agreement. The outlet dismissed Trump's remarks about easing naval blockades as unilateral interpretations, suggesting any such move would merely reverse existing measures rather than form part of a new deal. Tasnim also rejected U.S. media claims of nuclear concessions, insisting that current discussions do not encompass detailed nuclear arrangements. The release of Iran's frozen assets remains a key prerequisite for any preliminary understanding to be formally established, with Tehran expressing skepticism over Washington's position due to unresolved financial and sanctions-related issues.
