Iran vows to continue attacking U.S. interests until 'total surrender'

Iran has declared its ongoing attacks against U.S. interests will persist until the "total surrender of the enemy," signaling a continued escalation in the conflict between the two nations. Mohamad Baqer Zolqadr, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, described the attacks as "selective" and "lashes of the Iranian people's anger" that will continue until the enemy's complete capitulation.

Zolqadr, who replaced Alí Lariyani after his death, asserted that Tehran's offensives against U.S. targets in the Middle East will not cease until the "blood of innocent children" is avenged. He specifically referenced 168 minors who died in an attack on a primary school in Minab on February 28, the first day of the war launched by Israel and the United States against Iran. "Every column of smoke in the region means a U.S. military, security, or financial center has been hit," Zolqadr stated.

The declarations follow a two-week surge in confrontations, initiated after U.S. President Donald Trump ended a ceasefire due to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In response to U.S. attacks on Iranian territory, particularly in the south, Tehran has launched missiles and drones against U.S. targets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, among other countries. These actions have resulted in the deaths of four American soldiers, bringing the total U.S. military casualties to 18 since the conflict began. Iran, meanwhile, reported approximately 55 deaths during the recent escalation in July.

Despite the heightened tensions, Trump stated on Friday that talks with Iran are ongoing, even after the truce's collapse. However, he indicated that Tehran is not yet "ready" for a definitive peace agreement. This comes after Trump told Axios on Thursday that he is considering a "massive strike" against the Islamic Republic.
