Iranians Bear the Burden of War

More than six months after the United States-Israel war against Iran began, much of Iran’s population is struggling to carry on with daily life as conditions become increasingly difficult.

Iran’s political and military leadership appears to have adapted to the changes brought by the conflict. It has done so without making major concessions to its ideological principles.

For Iran’s roughly 90 million people, however, the war has brought a growing burden. The account presents the conflict through the pressure it places on ordinary citizens, even as the country’s leadership maintains its stated principles.
