Ireland named world's most picturesque country

Ireland has been crowned the most picturesque country globally, according to a new ranking compiled from the evaluations of over 6,000 international tourists. The "Emerald Isle" achieved an impressive score of 9.52 out of 10, outperforming renowned scenic destinations such as New Zealand, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Croatia.

We wanted to find out where the most spectacular views in the world are, according to our customers. One of the most beautiful parts of a vacation is discovering landscapes and places you don't see every day.

The study, conducted by DiscoverCars.com, surveyed travelers who rated the landscapes they encountered during their trips on a scale of 1 to 10. Only countries receiving at least 50 reviews were included in the analysis. "We wanted to find out where the most spectacular views in the world are, according to our customers. One of the most beautiful parts of a vacation is discovering landscapes and places you don't see every day," stated Aleksandrs Buraks, development director at DiscoverCars.com.

While Ireland's capital, Dublin, is a major draw, the country's natural landscapes are its primary allure. Tourists are particularly drawn to the glacial valley of Glendalough, the dramatic Wild Atlantic Way coastal route, and the striking Copper Coast in County Waterford. Iconic sites like the Cliffs of Moher and the towering Slieve League cliffs in County Donegal, among Europe's highest sea cliffs, are also major attractions.

New Zealand secured the second position with a score of 9.43 out of 10. Portugal and the United Kingdom tied for third place, followed by Croatia and Greece in fourth. The top ten also included Poland, Italy, Cyprus, France, Spain, the United States, and Mauritius. Buraks noted that while many European destinations feature prominently, Ireland's top ranking is unsurprising given its abundant natural beauty that consistently captivates visitors.

We discovered several ties in the top positions, and numerous European destinations dominate the list. Ireland, however, took first place, which is not surprising, as the Emerald Isle is full of natural beauty and landscapes that impress visitors.
