Is a vacation "extravagance," as tabloids often present it: A holiday doesn't have to cost a lot

Vacations are frequently depicted in Serbian tabloids as a symbol of luxury, with holiday photographs used not only to spark discussions about rising travel costs but also to discredit public figures. However, the notion that a trip to the seaside inherently signifies extravagance or a significant financial burden is challenged.

With numerous offers from tourist agencies and the possibility of independent travel planning, it appears that a "holiday" is achievable even on a limited budget. The article questions whether summer vacations have become a tool for gaining political points during the "hot," pre-election period.

Similar public targeting has occurred with other figures deemed "opponents of the regime," including prosecutor Bojana Savović and DS president Srđan Milivojević, whose private information and photographs have been published.
