ISM University has officially received a complaint concerning the doctoral dissertation of Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius. The complaint was filed by the Academic Ethics Service, prompting the university to initiate a review procedure.

The university's ethics commission is set to decide within the next 10 days whether to proceed with an investigation into the complaint. If the commission decides to investigate, it will have 30 days to reach a conclusion. During this review period, the university has stated it will not comment further on the matter.

Public questions have arisen regarding the submission of Sinkevičius's work into the electronic system and the potential for plagiarism. Plagiarism involves presenting another person's work as one's own. Sinkevičius, however, asserts that he authored the dissertation himself and is unconcerned about the ongoing review.

The university confirmed that the dissertation was uploaded to the system on July 16. A simplified version was prepared using artificial intelligence. The article notes that this text was written in an easily understandable language, adapted using an AI solution developed by scientists from Vytautas Magnus University in collaboration with the news agency ELTA.
