Israel Bombards Gaza, Casualties Mount

Israeli military forces resumed shelling and gunfire in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, violating a ceasefire agreement and expanding a buffer zone east of Gaza City. The intensified military operations included artillery bombardments and the demolition of buildings in several areas of the Palestinian enclave.

Casualties mounted throughout the day. Gaza's Civil Defense reported that an Israeli drone strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed two people and wounded several others. In another incident, four more individuals were killed in separate attacks across the territory. Gaza hospitals confirmed receiving the bodies of six deceased individuals.

In the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, an Israeli drone targeted the courtyard of a house in the Batn as-Sameen area, resulting in two fatalities. Medical sources told the Anadolu Agency that the bodies were transported to Nasser Hospital. Earlier, an attack on a busy street in Gaza City claimed one life and injured several others.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that at least eight people had been killed and 17 injured within the preceding 24 hours, without providing further details on the circumstances of the casualties. The previous day, an Israeli strike on a humanitarian aid vehicle carrying goods from the Kerem Shalom crossing to a warehouse in Gaza resulted in one death. World Central Kitchen identified the driver as Ahmad Nasser Saleem and issued a statement condemning the attack, emphasizing that humanitarian aid deliveries should not be targeted and demanding full accountability from Israel.

Local sources reported intense fire from quadcopter drones and Israeli military vehicles in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, accompanied by Israeli artillery shelling in eastern Gaza City. Israeli forces reportedly expanded their "yellow zone" in Al-Tuffah under heavy fire, trapping Palestinian families. In central Gaza, Israeli tanks fired heavily towards the northeast of Al-Bureij refugee camp, while Israeli warships shelled the coastal area west of Khan Younis.
