Israel Electric Corporation connects 12 IDF outposts on Syrian border to national grid

The Israel Electric Corporation is undertaking a significant infrastructure project to connect 12 IDF outposts along the Syrian border to the national electricity grid. This initiative, costing approximately NIS 28 million, aims to replace generator-based power with a stable, reliable supply, thereby reducing dependence on fuel and meeting the growing demands of these strategic locations.

The project involves installing about 41 kilometers of electrical infrastructure across challenging terrain. The defense establishment is cooperating with the IEC on this effort, which is part of the company's broader commitment to developing essential national infrastructure. The goal is to ensure consistent power for routine operations and emergencies.

So far, five outposts, Samakat, Tel Hazaka, Outpost 111, Outpost 160, and Nahal Golan Outpost, have been successfully connected. Connections for Tel Fares and Outpost 214 are expected in the coming weeks. The remaining five outposts are in the engineering planning phase, with connections anticipated in the coming months. This upgrade is crucial for the operational readiness and efficiency of these border installations.
