Istanbul braces for rising temperatures as cool weather departs

Istanbul is set to bid farewell to its recent cool and rainy spell, with temperatures expected to climb back to seasonal averages. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) forecasts that the current weather pattern will leave the region by Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures, which recently dipped to between 16-18 degrees Celsius, are projected to rebound to the 28-32 degree range. On Sunday, the mercury is expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius by midday, with a slight drop to 25 degrees in the evening and 23 degrees at night. While scattered clouds are anticipated, the day will largely be partly cloudy with minimal cloud cover.

Localized rainfall of 1 to 3 kilograms per square meter is possible, accompanied by light to moderate southwesterly winds blowing at speeds of 5 to 25 kilometers per hour. Looking ahead, the forecast indicates a week of predominantly clear and mostly cloudless skies across Istanbul, with no rain expected from Monday through Saturday.
