Istanbul offers free LGS high school choice counseling

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) is providing free guidance centers to assist students and parents navigate the high school entrance system (LGS) selection process. The İBB Youth Services Branch Directorate has established these centers to offer expert advice, helping students make informed and suitable choices based on their interests, academic rankings, and future aspirations. The service will be available from July 13 to July 19. Students and their parents can visit the centers located in Bakırköy on the European side and Kadıköy on the Anatolian side to receive one-on-one support from experienced educators. The counseling will cover information on the central and local placement systems, guidance on how and where to complete the central placement applications, and advice on transfer application processes. İBB aims to support students in making conscious decisions during this critical period of their education, ensuring they can shape their academic futures with expert assistance. The centers will operate daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. All students who took the LGS exam and their parents are eligible to benefit from this free service. The initiative seeks to ensure that students make the best possible choices for their educational paths and that parents have access to reliable information throughout the selection period.
