Istanbul's cultural scene buzzes with concerts, exhibitions, and theater this week

Istanbul is set to host a vibrant week of cultural and artistic events, offering a diverse program for art enthusiasts. From concerts and exhibitions to theater performances, the city's cultural calendar is packed.

The Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) Children's Art Center will be a hub for young creatives, providing workshops in creative drama, painting, and art throughout the week. Meanwhile, the Pera Museum will present various events related to its exhibition "On the Edge of Water: The Life and Art of Halil Pasha," alongside its permanent collection displays. Istanbul Modern will continue to welcome visitors with its exhibitions, including "Semiha Berksoy: Diva of the Colors," "Panorama: Dreams and Places," "Floating Islands," and "Renzo Piano: The Soul of the Place."

Arter will host a workshop titled "Spaces in the Story" for children aged 7-11 on July 25th. After exploring the "Under Construction" group exhibition, participants will create their own narratives using writing, collage, and drawing techniques. The week's musical offerings include a performance by percussionist Ayhan Sicimoğlu and the Harikalar Bandosu as part of the 33rd Istanbul Jazz Festival on July 20th. The Zorlu PSM Vestel Amfi will feature a "Biz Bize Quiz Night: Series Film Music Gossip" event, followed by concerts from alternative rock band Olur Öyle Hatalar on July 22nd and Berlin-based musician Netam on July 23rd. The VIBE vocal ensemble will present an a cappella concert on July 24th.

Turkish pop music icon Nilüfer will perform with a symphony orchestra under the direction of Hakan Şensoy for "Nilüfer Symphonic Nights" on July 20th at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater. American musical group Pink Martini is scheduled to perform on July 22nd at the same venue, presenting a repertoire of their popular songs. Rock musician Teoman will also take the stage on July 24th, performing a selection of his well-known works. International heavy metal acts In Flames and Accept will perform at Maximum Uniq Open-Air, with Accept, Destruction, and Saint N' Sinners on July 25th, and In Flames, Napalm Death, and Employed to Serve on July 26th.

The theater scene will feature Semaver Kumpanya's production of "Metot," a play by Spanish writer Jordi Galceran, tonight at the ENKA Eşref Denizhan Open-Air Theater. Directed by Serkan Keskin, the play stars Keskin himself, Sarp Aydınoğlu, Şebnem Hassanisoughi, and Yavuz Pekman. Additionally, "Devlerin Savaş" (The War of Giants), written by Peter Danish and starring Okan Bayülgen, Celal Kadri Kınoğlu, and Nihal Usanmaz, is also part of the lineup.
