Itaka sets another record with 645 million złoty guarantee

Itaka will enter the next travel season with a 645 million złoty insurance guarantee, the largest ever issued for the Polish tour operator and the biggest such protection on Poland’s travel market.

The guarantee, issued by the Polish branch of ERGO Reiseversicherung, will apply from September 16, 2026, through September 15, 2027. Its value exceeds the current guarantee by 87 million złoty, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%.

Itaka said in a statement that the increase reflected the company’s dynamic growth and the rising number of customers it serves. The guarantee protects travelers if the company becomes insolvent. Customers could receive help completing their trip, returning home, or recovering payments for canceled travel arrangements.

The company’s guarantee is followed by TUI’s 612 million złoty protection and Rainbow’s 500 million złoty guarantee. Itaka organized overseas holidays for 1.3 million Poles last year. Including customers in other Central and Eastern European countries, the total reached 1.83 million, while turnover amounted to 5.35 billion złoty in Poland and 7.34 billion złoty across the region.
