Italian Minister Backs Remote Work Abroad, Urges More Trust in Public Employees

Italy's Minister of Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo, has expressed his support for remote work arrangements, even for employees working from abroad. He stated his belief that the public administration should operate with greater trust in its employees rather than relying heavily on control mechanisms.

"I am favorable to it," Zangrillo said regarding working abroad, emphasizing a shift towards a more trusting environment within the public sector. He highlighted that this approach aligns with a broader effort to modernize the Public Administration (PA).

Zangrillo also pointed to positive trends within the ministry, noting a rise in the number of young people being hired. He indicated that simplifications in hiring processes and contract renewals are part of the ongoing changes aimed at making the PA more dynamic and efficient. This reflects a broader vision for a public sector that adapts to contemporary work practices and attracts new talent.
