Italian Wood Flooring Brand Listone Giordano Returns to South Korea After 14 Years

Italian premium wood flooring brand Listone Giordano has returned to the South Korean market, participating in the '2026 Korea Build Week' exhibition, marking its first appearance at a major domestic construction trade fair in 14 years. The company used the event to unveil its production methods, highlight domestic supply cases, and introduce new products developed in collaboration with designers.

Listone Giordano's flooring is crafted from oak trees grown in the Fontain region of Burgundy, France. The company emphasizes a rigorous selection process, noting that only about 0.01% of oak saplings, or roughly 100 out of one million, survive for 200 years to reach the density and quality required for their premium flooring. This slow-growing, high-density oak is then processed in the company's own sawmills in the Fontain region, ensuring control over the entire chain from timber selection and drying to manufacturing and delivery.

The unified origin in the Fontain region reduces variations in growth environments such as temperature and humidity during the tree's growth period. High-density wood that has grown for a long time is relatively less prone to deformation and develops its unique color and texture over time.

To ensure traceability and quality, Listone Giordano assigns unique identifiers to the wood destined for specific projects. This meticulous approach allows for tracking the origin and production history of the materials used in each installation. A representative from Hanon, the domestic importer, noted that unifying the wood source to the Fontain region minimizes variations in growth environments like temperature and humidity, contributing to the wood's stability and characteristic aging process.

The brand's commitment to quality and unique design has led to its adoption in some of South Korea's most prestigious residential developments. Listone Giordano flooring is featured in six of the top ten most expensive apartment complexes in the country, including notable addresses like Eterno Cheongdam, PH129, Nine One Hannam, and Galleria Fore. The company also presented its new 'Natural Genius' collection, developed with designers, which focuses on using wood flooring as a key design element to shape a space's atmosphere, moving beyond its traditional role as a mere surface material.
