Italy to send generators to Ukraine for winter power grid stability

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reaffirmed her country's "unwavering" support for Ukraine, announcing the dispatch of additional generators to bolster the nation's electrical infrastructure ahead of winter. The commitment was made during a videoconference with leaders of the Coalition of Volunteers in Kyiv, held on the occasion of Ukraine's 35th Independence Day.

Meloni expressed Italy's steadfast backing for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. She conveyed deep solidarity with the Ukrainian people, condemning the "continuous attacks by Russia against civilian infrastructure." The prime minister confirmed that Italy's humanitarian aid efforts will continue, focusing on providing generators specifically to enhance the resilience of the Ukrainian population and ensure the stability of the national power grid during the colder months.

During the meeting, leaders from the coalition and Italy underscored the necessity of reinforcing the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia.
