Jakarta Logs Rp173.6tn in Investment for H1 of 2026

Jakarta has achieved a significant investment realization of Rp173.6 trillion in the first semester of 2026, accounting for 17.2 percent of Indonesia's total national investment. Data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming indicates a strong mix of domestic and foreign capital contributing to this figure.

South Jakarta emerged as the top performer, attracting Rp62.7 trillion in realized investment. Central Jakarta followed with Rp49.9 trillion, while North, West, and East Jakarta also saw substantial contributions. The Seribu Islands recorded Rp289 billion in investments.

Heru Hermawanto, Head of the Jakarta Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP), highlighted Jakarta's position as the leading province for investment realization in the first half of the year. "This achievement demonstrates that Jakarta remains a prime investment destination in Indonesia," he stated in a press release on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The transportation, warehouse, and telecom sector led the investment landscape, capturing Rp54.3 trillion, or 31 percent of the total. The "other services" sector followed with Rp43.6 trillion (25 percent), and the trade and repair sector secured Rp28.4 trillion (16 percent). Investments in housing, industrial estates, and offices totaled Rp14 trillion, with construction adding Rp12.9 trillion. This investment pattern underscores Jakarta's continued reliance on its services sector and urban connectivity, aligning with its transformation into a global city.
