Jakarta LRT Inauguration to Trigger Traffic Rerouting Around Manggarai Station

Jakarta's transportation agency is preparing for the inauguration of the Jakarta LRT's Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route with planned traffic diversions. The ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Manggarai LRT station, will see situational traffic engineering to manage crowds and maintain public movement.

Budi Awaluddin, head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, stated that the rerouting is necessary for safety and smooth traffic flow. While access for residents and office workers will be maintained, drivers should anticipate changes and follow official guidance. Specific adjustments will affect vehicles traveling from South Tebet towards East or Proklamasi, from West or Dukuh Atas towards South Tebet or Proklamasi, and from East Proklamasi towards West or Dukuh Atas.

Detours will involve using alternative routes like Jalan Minangkabau Barat, Jalan Sultan Agung, Jalan Tambak, and Jalan Dr. Sahardjo, with specific instructions for U-turns and onward travel. The agency has also designated special parking for invited guests at the rear of Pasaraya Manggarai. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys, considering potential delays and adjusting routes accordingly.
