Jakarta Offers Rp 1 Public Transport for City Anniversary

Jakarta residents can travel for just Rp 1 on the city's MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta services during the 499th anniversary celebrations on June 27-28, 2026. The special fare is intended to ease public access to the main event at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout.

"To facilitate mobility to the event location, the public is encouraged to use public transportation, utilize the official parking areas provided, and adjust travel times and routes," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin. He added that services like Mikrotrans and Transjakarta Cares will remain free, along with services for specific community groups.

Beyond the discounted fares, some Transjakarta routes will see operational changes between 3 PM and 10 PM to accommodate the festivities. Routes such as 1 Blok M-Kota will be rerouted, while others like 6B Ragunan-Balai Kota will be shortened to Semanggi. Routes 6A Ragunan-Balai Kota via Kuningan, 1N Tanah Abang-Blok M, and 1P Senen-Blok M will not operate between 5 AM and 3 PM on those days.

The anniversary celebration is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the Greater Jakarta area. Authorities are urging attendees to prioritize public transport and follow directions from officials to ensure smooth movement during the event. Public transport options like MRT, LRT, and KRL are accessible to reach the Bundaran HI area, with extended operating hours.
