JAMB Advises Candidates to Accept or Reject Admission Offers Promptly

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a crucial advisory to candidates awaiting admission for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who have received admission offers are strongly urged to log into the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and take immediate action to either accept or reject these offers.

According to a video explainer released on JAMB's official social media platforms, promptness is key. Candidates are advised to regularly check their CAPS profiles for any admission offers. The process involves logging into their JAMB e-Facility account, clicking on "Admission Status," and then accessing CAPS. Once an offer is displayed, candidates must select either "Accept Admission" or "Reject Admission" without delay.

JAMB stressed that candidates should not make assumptions about their admission status. The board emphasized the importance of actively checking their CAPS profiles, as delays could jeopardize their chances or lead to missed opportunities. This directive aims to streamline the admission process and ensure that all candidates respond within the stipulated timelines.

In a related development, JAMB recently announced a new initiative allowing candidates to verify and upload their O'level results from home. This system, facilitated by the board's Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, enables direct verification with examination bodies like the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). This move aims to provide a more convenient experience for candidates, especially during peak periods when CBT centers experience high patronage and network challenges.
