JAMB Lists Errors UTME, DE Candidates Should Avoid During Profile Creation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to candidates preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registrations, highlighting the importance of accuracy during profile creation. The board stressed that even minor errors at this initial stage can lead to substantial complications throughout the admission process.

In a recent advisory video released as part of its "JAMB Explained" series, the board specifically cautioned "fresh candidates" about the pitfalls of incorrect names and dates of birth. JAMB clarified that candidate details are directly obtained from their records with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Consequently, any inaccuracies present in the NIMC data cannot be rectified by JAMB post-registration.

The board reiterated the paramount importance of verifying the accuracy of personal identity details from the outset, as this information forms the fundamental basis of all subsequent records within the JAMB system. Prospective candidates are strongly urged to meticulously review and confirm their details before proceeding with the profile creation process to prevent future admission challenges.
