Javier Milei to speak at Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential launch event

Argentine President Javier Milei is slated to deliver remarks at the upcoming launch event for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential bid, according to Senator Rogério Marinho. The convention, hosted by the Liberal Party (PL) in São Paulo, will officially present candidates for various positions, though a vice-presidential pick for Bolsonaro has not yet been announced.

Marinho, who is coordinating Flávio Bolsonaro's pre-campaign, confirmed Milei's expected participation. "Yes, he (Milei) will also speak. We are discussing with his team, he has a group, a protocol, an ambassador," Marinho told reporters after a meeting at the PL headquarters in Brasília with party president Valdemar Costa Neto and Flávio Bolsonaro.

The PL is actively pursuing alliances with parties such as União Brasil and PP, which are currently federated, and the Republicanos party. These coalitions are crucial for expanding the campaign's advertising airtime on television and radio. Valdemar Costa Neto acknowledged the importance of these alliances, noting that Flávio Bolsonaro was not initially prepared for a presidential run and is now building his campaign structure.

The convention, scheduled for Saturday, will also formalize candidacies for state and federal deputies, as well as senators. Given the party's support for Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos), there will be no gubernatorial candidate from the PL in São Paulo. Party leaders have indicated that the decision regarding Flávio Bolsonaro's vice-presidential running mate will be made by the August 5 deadline.
