JDT extend winning run with 3-0 victory over DPMM FC

Johor Darul Ta’zim kept their perfect start to the Malaysia Super League intact by beating DPMM FC 3-0 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium. The victory gave Xisco Munoz’s side 12 points from four matches.

JDT had to work patiently against a disciplined DPMM defense. The deadlock finally broke in the 36th minute when Arif Aiman Hanafi’s attempt was saved by Samuel Somerville, but Bergson Da Silva reacted first to score. Video review confirmed that Arif Aiman had not been offside when he received Jonathan Silva’s long pass.

Four minutes later, Arif Aiman cut back from the right for Bergson, who fired into the net from close range. Bergson appeared to have completed a hat-trick before halftime, but the goal was disallowed after VAR found Jonathan offside in the build-up.

DPMM continued to defend with discipline and created chances of their own. Shahab Zahedi came close in the 73rd minute, but Somerville pushed his curling effort wide. Stoichkov, introduced during the second half, then scored JDT’s third with a low shot into the left corner. DPMM pressed late, but Ahmad Syihan preserved JDT’s clean sheet. Bergson missed a chance to score in consecutive matches after Corbin Ong’s stoppage-time pass.
