Jeanette Biedermann Becomes a Mother at 46

Jeanette Biedermann has welcomed her first child at 46, calling her son “our greatest gift” and a “cheerful little miracle.”

The actress and singer announced the birth on Instagram with a photograph showing her holding the baby, wrapped in a cloth. “It’s a Boy!”, she wrote. Biedermann said both mother and child were doing well, although she described the birth as “the greatest challenge of my entire life.”

She did not reveal when the child was born. Her management told dpa that the artist would not provide the exact date. Bild quoted Biedermann as saying her son was healthy and strong, and that she was still struggling to grasp the experience. She described “tears of joy” and an overwhelming feeling of love.

Biedermann also used the interview to express admiration for mothers. “I can only express my utmost respect for all moms,” she said, describing childbirth as a journey that pushed her to her limits. Bild reported that her partner Sebastian was present at the birth.

In March, Biedermann publicly announced her pregnancy on Instagram after saying for years that she wanted a child. At the time, she wrote that “nature and destiny” had decided to give her this little miracle. The singer, who comes from Bernau in Brandenburg, said she would have been happy if motherhood was meant for her, and accepting if it was not.
