Jedvaj Transfer to Al-Shabab Nears Completion

Croatian defender Tin Jedvaj appears to be on the verge of leaving Panathinaikos for Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab, concluding his two-year tenure with the Athens-based team. Reports suggest the transfer is in its final stages.

According to Saudi journalist Sultan Al-Lotaybi, Al-Shabab, a club in the Saudi Pro League, has secured the required approval from its control committee. The move is now awaiting an official announcement to be finalized. Initial reports of Al-Shabab's interest surfaced on Friday, with Saudi newspaper 'arriyadiyah' revealing that the 25-time Croatian international was nearing a move to the club where Daniel Podence and Yannick Carrasco currently play.

Jedvaj is expected to fill the void left by Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt at Al-Shabab. The Croatian center-back is no stranger to playing in the Middle East, having previously played for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates from January to summer 2023. During his time there, he made 18 appearances and scored one goal.

During his two seasons with Panathinaikos, Jedvaj was a key figure in the defense, recording 62 appearances in the Stoiximan Super League, scoring seven goals, and providing one assist. He also played 11 matches in the Greek Cup, solidifying his role as a vital player for the Greens.
