Jesús Ramírez Cuevas: From Journalism to Claudia Sheinbaum's Top Advisor

Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, now serving as Coordinator of Advisors to President Claudia Sheinbaum, brings a wealth of experience from both journalism and public service to his current role.

Ramírez Cuevas began his career in journalism after graduating in Political Science from UNAM in 1991. He contributed to the magazine Motivos from 1991 to 1994. His international reporting experience includes stints as a correspondent for the Associated Press (1995-1996) and Reuters (1996-2000).

His academic and literary pursuits include co-authoring the book "Ciudad de México, crónica de sus delegaciones" with Carlos Monsiváis in 2008. During the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Ramírez Cuevas was appointed General Coordinator of Social Communication and Spokesperson for the Presidency, a position he held for the entire six-year term.

Prior to Claudia Sheinbaum's inauguration, Ramírez Cuevas was announced as part of her cabinet. He was designated as the head of the General Coordination of Social Communication just before Sheinbaum assumed the presidency, a role he continues in her administration.
