  • PT Jetour Motor Indonesia launched the Jetour T1, expanding its SUV lineup in the country.
  • The T1 shares a similar boxy design with the T2 but is positioned as an urban adventure SUV for daily use, while the T2 is for more rugged adventuring.
  • The company aims to cater to diverse consumer preferences, offering the T1 as a more accessible option for everyday mobility.

PT Jetour Motor Indonesia has introduced the Jetour T1, the newest addition to its boxy SUV family in Indonesia. This model complements the existing Jetour T2 within the Travel+ lineup.

At first glance, the T1 and T2 appear quite similar, both featuring a distinctive boxy design characteristic of adventure SUVs and nearly identical cabins. However, Jetour has designed these two models to meet different consumer needs. Moch Ranggy Radiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia, explained that Indonesian consumers have varied preferences. Therefore, the company presents the T1 as an alternative that is more suited for daily use.

"We see that Indonesian consumers' needs and preferences are diverse. Some truly love adventure, but others need a vehicle for daily mobility. So, we are introducing the T1 to meet these consumer preferences. The T1 model is also quite suitable for women to drive," said Ranggy. The most fundamental difference lies in their product segmentation. The Jetour T2 is positioned as an adventure SUV built to tackle various road conditions and outdoor activities. In contrast, the T1 is presented as an urban adventure SUV, primarily intended for city environments, though it retains some adventuring capabilities.

According to Ranggy, both vehicles share the same adventurous spirit. However, the T1 is engineered with a greater emphasis on on-road use. "Although the chassis is different, the DNA is the same: adventure. So, even though we call it an urban adventure vehicle, where usage might be 70 to 80 percent in the city, the T1 is still capable for adventure use," he stated.
