Jigawa Gov Finds Empty State Secretariat, SSG, Head of Service, Commissioners Absent

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has voiced strong disappointment following an unscheduled inspection of the state secretariat, which revealed a shocking level of absenteeism among top government officials. The governor's surprise visit aimed to assess the commitment of public servants and monitor attendance, but instead found many key offices locked during official working hours.

The inspection revealed that the offices of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Head of Service, and the Accountant-General were all locked. Furthermore, several commissioners and permanent secretaries were absent from their posts. Only a handful of messengers and security personnel were present across various ministries. The governor did note, however, that the Commissioner for Works was present, as were the permanent secretaries for the Ministries of Health and Livestock Development. Out of the state's 18 commissioners, only one was found at their duty station during the governor's visit.
