Jigawa Governor Hails Army Over New 262 Tank Battalion

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has lauded the Nigerian Army's establishment of the 262 Tank Battalion in Gumel, describing it as a pivotal step in bolstering security across the state and its border communities. The State Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Sagir Musa, announced this following a State Executive Council meeting presided over by the governor.

Musa stated that the council views the creation of the battalion as a significant milestone. The enhanced military presence in the northern part of Jigawa is expected to significantly improve the state's capacity for rapid response to emerging security challenges. This includes reinforcing the protection of communities that share a border with the Niger Republic.
