Jimmy Neesham returns to Janakpur Bolts for NPL's third season

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham is set to make a comeback with the Janakpur Bolts for the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The franchise announced Neesham's return on social media, highlighting his significant contribution to their inaugural NPL title victory in 2024.

During the first season, Neesham showcased his explosive batting, scoring 247 runs in nine matches with an impressive strike rate exceeding 196 and an average above 35. His performance also included taking seven wickets, earning him the award for the tournament's best strike rate. Janakpur Bolts chief executive officer Niroj Khatiwada expressed his delight, stating, "The hero of our championship-winning first season has returned home once again."

Neesham had a stint with the Pokhara Avengers in the second season due to Janakpur not having a slot. He played four matches, accumulating 99 runs with a half-century and taking five wickets. This season, he will feature for Janakpur as a Test-category overseas player. Neesham brings a wealth of international experience, having played 12 Tests, 76 ODIs, and 105 T20 internationals for New Zealand. He also has extensive experience in global franchise leagues, including the Indian Premier League, Lanka Premier League, and the Big Bash League, among others.
