Johor Super Crown 2026 Polo Championship to Host World's Elite

Johor Bahru is set to host the prestigious Johor Super Crown Polo (JSCPT) 2026 championship, an event that promises to bring together some of the world's most elite polo players. Kicking off on September 1, the tournament will unfold at the grounds of Istana Pasir Pelangi, marking a significant moment for the sport in the region.

This inaugural edition, carrying the theme 'Legacy in Motion,' will showcase the skills of five specially invited teams: Royal Johor, Temasek, J-corp, Korea Polo, and Digital Bridge. The presence of the Acting Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who is expected to play for the Royal Johor team in the opening match, adds considerable prestige to the event.

RJPC is supplying all the horses for this tournament, including bringing in over 60 new horses specially imported from Argentina.

David Keyte, representing the Royal Johor Polo Club (RJPC), emphasized the international caliber of the competition, drawing parallels to renowned global tournaments like the U.S. Open and the Queen's Cup in the United Kingdom. To ensure a balanced and high-quality contest, the organizers have sourced approximately 190 high-performance polo ponies, with over 60 newly imported from Argentina, distributed equitably among the competing teams.

The championship will also feature renowned 10-goal polo stars such as Juan Martín Nero and Pablo Mac Donough, celebrated for their multiple victories in the Argentine Open.
