Jokowi's Supporters Ready to Accompany His Regional Tour

Multiple volunteer groups supporting former Indonesian President Joko Widodo are mobilizing to accompany his planned visits to various regions across the country. These supporters, including representatives from Projo and other organizations, met with Widodo at his residence in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

We asked if Mr. [Widodo] was sufficiently fit in terms of health and stamina to travel to the regions. And we hope that friends in the regions will welcome him.

During the meeting, a key topic of discussion was Widodo's health and fitness for undertaking an agenda of regional travel. The volunteers inquired about his well-being and expressed their hopes that local receptions would be kept simple and understated. Zulfan Lindan, a former DPR member, conveyed the volunteers' sentiment, emphasizing that Widodo should not be greeted like a state official.

"We asked if Mr. [Widodo] was sufficiently fit in terms of health and stamina to travel to the regions. And we hope that friends in the regions will welcome him," Zulfan told reporters after the meeting. He suggested that a less formal reception would allow Widodo to interact more freely with the public, avoiding the constraints often associated with official welcomes.

Damrizal, Chairman of the Jokowi for Prabowo Gibran Volunteers (ReJO), stated that volunteers nationwide are ready to support Widodo's upcoming visits, viewing them as a reciprocal gesture for the many citizens who have visited him in Solo. He stressed that as Widodo is no longer president, formal state welcomes are unnecessary. "Mr. Jokowi is no longer an official. Mr. Jokowi no longer needs to be formally welcomed. He wants to come as a citizen to meet fellow citizens, who are, after all, our brothers and sisters as citizens," Damrizal explained.
